Correct oil filling techniques.

It may seem odd ... why do we have a whole page focused on the filling of oil?..... seriously it cant be that hard can it?...... well the fact is after years of working within the gearbox trade amazingly this is among one of the biggest return faults that companies have (along with pressure created from wrong wheel sizing).

symptoms of low transmission fluid

When the fluid in your transmission gets too low, numerous problems can occur. Since the fluid in the transmission is responsible for lubricating the transmission, powering the transmission and cooling the transmission, you can run into situations where the fluid overheats because there is not enough of it to keep the internals oiled.

The vehicle will not move because there's not enough fluid to propel it, or the vehicle vehicle will start to see failures internally such as bearing failures and gear set failures because it has insufficient lubrication.

What this means to the driver is that the vehicle will either fail to move on its own. If you are going up or down a severe incline or going around a sharp corner, you might find the the vehicle stops moving because the fluid has sloshed away from the pickup tube. You might notice the fluid itself is getting burnt because it's getting too hot and causing too much friction in the transmission or ultimately may no longer be driveable because the fluid is too low.

The fluid needs to be hot and the vehicle needs to be running in order to get an accurate fluid measurement.

In a newly reconditioned gearbox low transmission oil will burn it out and start causing problems with the gearbox within usually around 50ish miles dependant on how low it is.

1, please call your specific dealer to ask how much transmission fluid your car needs.

2, Refer to your manual for correct filling procedures.

3, Even mechanics get it wrong and transmission fluid levels should be checked again after the car has been ran for 5 minutes and then topped up.
